Asante Richard- Teacher/Farmer |
A teacher in Kwahu Peapease Roman Catholic Basic School, Asante Richard, tells his story in a video on how he managed to construct maize, groundnuts, pepper and okro farm during the locked down and his future plans.
Asante Richard, a native of Pepease, schooled, bread and buttered and now a teacher said, "farming has been his passion since he was young because it has been part of their family though his dad was a police.
God has blessed Kwahu with fertile lands and so why don't we take advantage of the lock down and make some farms to support ourselves? I am not the only person who planned this, most of the youth did their
possible best to engage themselves and here we are". He added

"He went further to explain the various varieties of maize, strategies and other vital information needed to know before going to farming and off course gave advice to the youth to take advantage of Kwahu fertile lands and start farming to support themselves and their family.
He finally appealed to individuals and authorities to support the youth and encourage them to engage in farming in order to reduce rural-urban migration".
